A biography and genealogy of Revolutionary War soldier, Elijah Churchill (1755-1841), who was cited for his service and valor at Fort St. George near Brookhaven, Long Island, NY, in November 1780; at Tarrytown, NY, in July 1781; and at Fort Salonga, Long Island, NY, on October 2, 1781. He was one of only three Continental Army noncommissioned officers awarded the Badge of Military Merit (later the Purple Heart) for heroism
