Summary
This collection of 119 poems by David Davis takes its name from the first section titled “Market Town.” In the author’s own words, “The ‘Market Town’ poems are a ‘mash-up’ inspired by Chaucer’s ‘Canterbury Tales,’ Thoreau’s ‘Walden,’ and the appurtenances of modern life.” Two intermissions titled “Short Poems” are brief, witty, attention-shifting additions, that delineate the three conversations which ensue: “Communion,” “Night Camp,” and culminating finally with ”A Fond Farewell.”
